March 13, 2016 has been officially my favorite day ever this year. I got to meet the Queen, Sarah J. Maas. The book signing event was hosted by National Book Store and was held at NBS Glorietta 1.

I went to the venue as early as 10AM the day before. I was 7th in line. The earliest attendee arrived at 5:30 freaking AM. Oh gods! I just love Sarah so so so much that I camped out for the first time in FOREVER. The whole experience was better because I met my new friends from the ToG facebook group that I am a member of. Also, it was so fun to discuss all things ToG and ACOTAR with them. (In my usual day, I actually yearn to have people to actually talk about this subject to. Can’t help but talk to my brothers who looks at me like I’m a crazy lady when I do that.)

The whole event especially lining up for the book signing was surprisingly organized. There were “bouncers” who ensures that no one tries to cut into the lines and make “singit” as the Filipinos call it.

The loooooonggggggg waiting period was the hardest. I survived on foods and interrupted periods of naps the whole night long. When the BIG DAY for us came, we were all energized especially when it was time for registration. After that, it was as if the whole day was a blur.

Then, 2PM came and everyone was excited. When, Sarah arrived, everyone was screaming and chanting and cheering for their ships! I love all the feels flood that day. I’m so happy to learn that there are many who are sailing with me in the DORAELIN SHIP. My fangirl heart could never be happier than this.

Author interview came next. What really stuck to my mind was when Sam was brought up..and she told us that it was also hard for her to write about him. Also, when she said that she adapted the “I will not be afraid” line from ToG in her life. I was brought to tears and we can all feel that she was trying not to cry as well. Oh, she was also asked who she connects to the most among the 3 lead guys in ToG. Her answer was on the safe side but she described Dorian the longest. šŸ˜‰ ā¤ I was also overwhelmed with feels when she said how the Filipino readers are the best in the world.

The actual book signing took place. When it was my turn, I was really freaking out inside and trying so hard to calm down. Oh my gods, it was as if I was starstruck. I felt that I met Aelin in flesh (and when I saw her husband, Josh, like he’s totally Dorian). I swear it’s like I met King Dorian and Queen Aelin in front of me. I literally was a loss for words and just said that I was so happy to see her and was trying so hard not to cry. *I know totally embarrassing, I hope Sarah was not freaked out by me* I thanked her for coming and that the camp out was so worth it bc I got to meet her. Too bad, the management was not allowing hugs..but at least I did the author-handshake with her.

Thank you to Sarah for coming! We’re really blessed and overjoyed to have you here in our country. I hope you’ll come back with your hubs. To National Book Store, lots of gratitude from me for making the impossible happen. Thank you for making the Filipino book nerds dream come true. šŸ™‚

More Book Signings in Philippines! Yay!

If you are a book nerd living in the Philippines, you still probably have hangovers from the most recent book signing events of authors, Jenny Han and Stephanie Perkins. Lucky you, if you were able to attend. Meanwhile, me is still a mourning a bit for not being able to see them but at least my friend got my books signed.

Anyway, in case you missed the news, more and more authors are coming to visit the Philippines. It’s so thrilling Ā that the other authors that we all absolutely adore know of our existence. Lol. Anyway, here are the authors who are confirmed/rumored to do book signings in PH:

1. Alex London

Alex London is the author of the dystopian novels entitled, Proxy and Guardian. National Book Store will be organizing the event. It will be on August 30, 2014 (2 PM) at SM Aura. Registration for the said event will start at 10 AM. Few more days to go!

2. Jennifer Smith and Lissa Price

September will be indeed the month of the book nerds in the Philippines. Aside from the Manila International Book Fair, two authors, Jennifer Smith and Lissa Price will come visit us. Personally, Jennifer Smith is my one of my favorite authors. I can’t wait to meet her in person. Her famous novels are The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight, This is What Happy Looks Like, and The Geography of You and Me. On the other hand, I haven’t read Lissa Price’s novels yet but I’ll try! Her well-known novels are Starters and Enders. Their book signing event will occur on September 19 (SM Cebu, at 6 PM), September 20 (SM Aura, at 2 PM), and September 21 (MIBF SMX Convention Center, at 4 PM). If you are going to attend on the 21st, make sure you come early since only 200 people will be accommodated.

3. Madeleine Roux

There are also rumors going around that Madeleine Roux, the author of Asylum, will also come sometime in October. There are no official announcements yet though!

4. Marie Lu

Another beloved author by many Filipinos is Marie Lu. She is the best-selling author of the dystopian series, Legend. She’ll be coming this fall..probably on November if ever? I’m guessing her event will be held by National Book Store.

5. Colleen Hoover, Tina Reber and Tarryn Fisher

Are you an avid New Adult reader? I think you are also looking forward to meet these three great authors. Earlier this July, Colleen Hoover posted a status on Facebook about a possible visit to Philippines in 2015. Plus, it looks like Tarryn Fisher (Love me with lies series & Mud Vein) and Tina Reber (Love Unscripted) will come too! Oh pretty please, I hope the Atria Indie authors will have a tour here!

6. E. Lockhart

And the latest addition to the long list of authors who’ll visit Philippines is E. Lockhart. She wroteĀ We Were Liars which really got a lot of hype from the YA readers. She’s coming to visit us on March 2015. I’m so stoked!!!

See? It’s a long long list after all. It’s really nice to have authors coming and visiting us here. I hope more and more of them will come. šŸ™‚ Thank you so much book gods and goddesses!

Upcoming Book Signings in Manila & Cebu, Philippines

2014 has really been an amazing year so far for most of the bibliophiles in Philippines. For the past 4 months, 7 big authors came and visited us. Gayle Forman came inĀ January, Mitch Albom in February, and Becca Fitzpatrick in March. Most recently, Tahereh Mafi, Ransom Riggs, and Veronica Rossi had their big book signing event last April. That’s really something which gave us Filipino bookworms something to be busy about aside from reading our books. Those unforgettableĀ moments with our favorite authors were something that we will be kept in our hearts as treasures (I know, I’m cheesy šŸ˜› ). Even if we just saw them and talked to them in such a short time, it felt like a dream came true.. to meet someone who’s given us a world to escape to from reality and enjoy journeys with their fictional characters.

That’s just the beginning of the year for us. Filipino bookworms seems like they will be having moreĀ treats from National Book Store.

Last time, it was announced that Jenny Han, the author of the New York Times Best Selling novel The Summer I Turned Pretty Series, will be coming to Philippines for her book signing event on June 21 in Manila and June 22 in Cebu this year. We were so thrilled to know that she will be visiting us. Look at this poster, it’s so girly and cute. I love it!

Aside from Jenny Han, National Book Store gave the big news that Stephanie Perkins (cue squeals here), author of Anna and The French Kiss & Lola and the Boy Next Door, will be going here too. I’m so happy right now. Though for sure, my savings will be suffering with all the books that I will be buying to be signed and read (of course). Stephanie Perkins’ Book Signing Event will be on July 5 in Cebu and July 6 in Manila.

These kind of news are pure bliss to all of the bookworms here. I hear rumors that in almost every month of 2014, there would be an author who will come for a book signing. I wonder who’s next..
