Empire of Storms/ Doraelin Theories

I just want to put this out here that I am so friggin excited that the next book in my favorite series, Throne of Glass, is about to be released in 10 days. Imagine how hard it must have been for me and other hardcore ToG fans out there to wait for a year just to have this precious baby in our hands.

giphy

So, in advance celebration of the upcoming EoS release, here are some of my speculations for the next installment in the ToG series:

  • Yrene Towers comeback

In QoS, it is no secret that Nesryn will accompany Chaol to Torre Cesme to get him healed and by some twist of fate, they’re going to meet Yrene Towers. Speculation #1: She’s going to come with them back to Adarlan (and maybe but I’m praying to all the gods that this will not happen) will meet Dorian. Dorian might see Sorscha in Yrene..So it may be possible that she can be a candidate for a future queen, However, I still strongly doubt that this will happen because yes..Doraelin is still in the game.

  • Blood ties can’t be broken.

I saw somewhere online that this may pertain to Aelin and Rowan “being Caranam” and their ties being impossible to be broken. Here’s the thing…I don’t think that this refers to Rowaelin. When Queen Elena said this in ToG (I’m not sure), I guess when she said this, she was warning Celaena/Aelin about blood ties. That being particularly about Rowan’s blood sworn oath to Maeve. Maeve is a very powerful fae and letting Aelin win at that time was too easy. I think Maeve has an ulterior motive behind that. She is not going to let Rowan slip away from her hands easily. In EoS, I am guessing that the Fae Queen will claim Rowan back through that blood tie and Rowan will be used against Aelin or something like that.

  • Queen Elena and other characters might be back through a wyrdgate.

Total crazy theory here. I am guessing that Aelin and company will find a way to use a wyrdgate on-hand to call for a help from someone. That will be no other than Queen Elena herself. In ToG and CoM, she has been making appearances and we’ve pretty much missed her since then. My Doraelin shipper heart tells me that she’ll play a big part in bringing back my babies together.

Nehemia may come back as well to help Dorian maybe? Dorian has no one in the castle remember? Who else is going to help him but Nehemia and hopefully King Gavin and Queen Elena?

  • Dorian and Mort encounter

With no one else around Dorian, what else is he going to do? He’s probably going to research more on his powers. He’s going to have to go to the same place where Celaena found the ancient tomb of King Gavin and Queen Elena. While he’s there, he’s got to have a conversation with Mort. I bet he and Mort will have a good long talk about what Dorian needs to know about his powers and ancestry.

  • Aelin and Dorian are mates.

There was this released quote from EoS which talks about finding each other throughout the centuries. Guess what? Aelin and Dorian are really Gavin and Elena reincarnated. What else was the purpose of Cain giving emphasis to “You were all brought here for an unfinished game” thingy? Plus, I’m sure Queen Elena has also given hints to that.

Another was Dorian and Aelin finding each other throughout the books.

1st Encounter: King of Adarlan bringing little Dorian to visit Terrasen, where he meets little Aelin.

2nd Encounter:The Assassin’s Blade (not sure which one), the party that Dorian and Chaol crashed? Those two met again unexpectedly and briefly.

3rd Encounter: Dorian, unknowingly, choosing Aelin (aka Celaena Sardothien back then) as his champion for the King’s contest.

Need I remind you of that epic Doraelin moment in QoS with “They were infinite. They were the beginning and ending” scene. Plus, there are so many Doraelin and FeyRhys/FeySand parallels.

  • My baby Aedion will have a beautiful long life with Lyssandra.

He is so not going to die. I know in my heart that he is going to survive whatever war they will face in the upcoming books. Also, I think that he’s gonna get together with Lyssandra. Lyssandrion FTW!!!!

  • Malide will happen.

Many are speculating about Manorian happening but I can think of hundreds of reasons why they are not compatible. I’d rather have Malide happen. I mean those two are so adorable together. It’s going to make Abraxos so happy!!!

That’s all I’ve got for now. I’ll update this when I come up with more theories. 🙂

I’m on Tumblr too where I fangirl more about Doraelin and the ToG world. It’s doraelinisinfinite.tumblr.com

10 Ways to Survive Waiting for Throne of Glass Book 5

Any Throne of Glass fans here? Just in case you don’t know, I am such a fan of this series. I’ve raved so much about this series for like a bajillion times already. It brought my hardcore fangirl heart back alive. It’s been pretty dormant these past few years but when I read Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas last year, I instantly fell in love with everything that is in the book. I am already afraid again for myself for being so much invested in this series. But you can never be afraid to love if it makes you happy right? 😛

Anyhoo, if you’re a ToG fan already, I know you know how painful it is for us to wait another year just get our hands on ToG book 5. Oh Gods, give us strength!

As a fellow ToG fan and Fireheart, here I am to guide you and teach you my ways on how to survive waiting for Throne of Glass Book 5:

  1. Read the previous books in the series as much as you can.

I know this is a no-brainer…but it’s really one of the best things you could do to survive. Reliving all the best  moments in the series will help you get through the one year we have to endure. Plus, you’ll be a pro in the ToG if you can remember every single detail about it, right? Ahhh…that giddy feeling I felt during the yulemas when Celaena and Dorian…..aghhhh…asdfghjkl

Oops. Sorry. 😉

    2. Decode chapters or sections of the book like crazy

I’m probably not the only one who does this. I tell you there are plenty of us who does this. Don’t worry. Your behavior is totally normal. I usually stay up late at night trying to decipher the lines in some of the sections in the book. I mean “They were all players in an unfinished game.”…Sounds familiar? I’m still pretty sure my ship is sailing *whispers: Doraelin is endgame*

      3. Make your own ToG playlist.

Such a good way to step up your reading experience! Drown in loads of feels while reading your favorite ToG book.

     4. Create a ToG-dedicated blog.

I haven’t done this one yet but I’m pretty close to doing it. I have this blog though to rave about it! I’m pretty much writing all of my feels out of my fangirling heart!

5. Write your own fanfiction!

I’ve tried to search a ToG fanfic but there’s nothing yet that caught my eye. If this is going to continue, I might as well create my own fanfiction…. inside my head. For the gifted writers out there, why not write  a ToG fanfic? I mean there are some stuff in the series that we are frustrated about but in fanfic we can make what we want to happen, happen.

   6. Do booktube-marathon.

Feeling alone? Like there’s no one to fangirl with you because well nobody can understand you but your fellow fandom members, right? Booktube is the first answer to your problem. Before, I have no place to go whenever I finish a book. Now, I can see other people who love the books that I love as much as I do. It’s too much fun watching their reviews and reactions about the series.

     7. Watch Sarah’s interviews.

I dedicate a healthy portion of my time watching interviews of Sarah aka Our Queen. You know how much we hunger for some precious ToG deets!

     8. Join Facebook Groups or online discussions.

I’m lucky enough to discover some facebook groups which are solely dedicated to discussing Queen of Shadows. I think, it’s my place to be until the next book gets released next year. There are also ToG online discussions in Goodreads. I think I also saw pretty interesting posts in Tumblr regarding the happenings in the ToG series.

     9. Stalk Sarah’s Pinterest.

If you still don’t know about this, Sarah’s Pinterest is full of hints about her novels. I confess that this is so addictive. I check it like everyday to see if I can maybe get a glimpse to what will happen in ToG book 5. Tip: Look at the comments section of the pictures, you can learn a lot from those.

 10. Search and Formulate Theories.

Finally! The last and most essential way to survive the long wait is to search and formulate theories. I tell you, I have found some really good theories in Tumblr and Instagram. When I tell really good theories, I mean theories which are so good they might as well be reading Sarah’s mind. I hope they can, especially those who theorize about Dorian and Aelin ending up together. Those Doraelin endgame theories are all I have until ToG 5 release next year!

Book Review: Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas

Title:  Heir of Fire (Throne of Glass #3)

Author: Sarah J. Maas

Publisher: Bloomsbury USA Childrens (September 2, 2014)

Format:Hardcover

Pages: 565

Synopsis from Goodreads:

Lost and broken, Celaena Sardothien’s only thought is to avenge the savage death of her dearest friend: as the King of Adarlan’s Assassin, she is bound to serve this tyrant, but he will pay for what he did. Any hope Celaena has of destroying the king lies in answers to be found in Wendlyn. Sacrificing his future, Chaol, the Captain of the King’s Guard, has sent Celaena there to protect her, but her darkest demons lay in that same place. If she can overcome them, she will be Adarlan’s biggest threat – and his own toughest enemy.

While Celaena learns of her true destiny, and the eyes of Erilea are on Wendlyn, a brutal and beastly force is preparing to take to the skies. Will Celaena find the strength not only to win her own battles, but to fight a war that could pit her loyalties to her own people against those she has grown to love?

Oh my gods. I swear I’ve been through a lot while reading this book. Imagine all the feels that I had. Most ToG fans call this book their favorite but  I still think that the first book in the series was the best. However, HoF blew me away with all the awesomeness! How can I review this book without spoilers? I dunno really. So if you haven’t started the series yet..go and pick up Throne of Glass and Crown of Midnight. Then, when you finish them, come back here. Okay? Okay.

——SPOILERS AHEAD——-

HoF picks up from the point where Celaena is sent to Wendlyn to accomplish her mission to assassinate the royalties there who pose a threat to the power of the King of Adarlan. She’s got this dark vibe at the beginning of the novel. After everything that happened to her, Nehemia dying and Chaol betraying her, of course, she’s got the right to be angsty.

But out of nowhere, a mysterious guy named Rowan tells her to come with him to meet her Fae Queen Aunt, Maeve. She comes with him to learn about the Wyrdkeys. When she meets her aunt, she asks Celaena to show off her gifts and then that’s when she will decide if she will give what Celaena wants.

Right from the moment Celaena and Rowan met, I thought that they are going to be so great together. They are both interesting characters with dark pasts. Their banters are really fun to read. I really enjoyed their lessons together and how Rowan did not spare Celaena from the hardships of training just because she’s an heir to the crown of Terrasen. I love how their relationship grew. From strangers who loathe each other, they became true friends. I even ship them!! Lol. It’s either Dorian or Rowan for me. If Celaena chooses from one of them, my fangirl heart will be alright.

Oh..and Celaena’s transformation in this book is so overwhelming. At the start of the series, we see the Celaena who’s got rage, angst, and hatred in her heart. She despises the fact that she failed herself, her friends, her family, and her kingdom. It took her a long long while before she has been able to let go and accept and just move on. During the fight with Narrok and his army, I was flailing because I was so afraid that Celaena will lose. I mean the Valg Princes are soooo scary. But yeah, I have my faith on her. There are at least three more books in the series so I am sure she would survive the Valg Princes’ attack. I was celebrating and got teary eyed when she met the little Aelin. I love how she was woken up from her hopelessness and she begin fighting again for the right cause. She now has hope and I very much fangirled when she dealt with her aunt and forced her to free Rowan from their blood oath.

Then, there’s the part of the novel which tells what’s been happening in Rifthold. The focusis on Chaol, Dorian, and Aedion. First, I’ll talk about what happened to Dorian. So, after he discovered his magic. He has been searching for ways to keep it hidden while still practicing it. When he hurt himself from practicing, he goes in the place of the healers where he meets Sorscha. They got pretty close to each other. Dorian fell for Sorscha because “she accepted him for what he is even if his father killed Sorscha’s family”. Well…alright, tbh I’m not a fan of their ship. S0rry not sorry. I don’t like Sorscha at all. And even though Dorian loves her. I rejoiced when she got killed. Bwahahaha!! That means, that my ship Doraena (Dorian and Celaena) still has hope. Anyway, Chaol, in the beginning, has been having a hard time accepting the truth about Celaena. He also deals with his father and his request to come back to Anielle. I’m fine with him going back to his land..But then, Aedion, the great general who apparently is Celaena/Aelin’s cousin, visits Rifthold. His reputation in the Adarlan Empire is that his the “King’s Whore”. Later on, we find out that he’s truly an enemy to the king and he seeks to give justice to his cousin. I love his existence in the novel. Oh gosh…

There are the parts towards the end of the book which tortured me. Creys. I CANNOT. First, Aedion gets dragged into the prison of the castle, serving as a bait for Celaena to come back to the kingdom and face the evil king. Oh and I couldn’t accept what happened to Dorian..The ever charming and adorable prince was forced to wear the collar from the king that has a power to control him. OMG. WHYYYYYYYY????

Last part in my review/discussion is Manon and the coven of witches. I think that side of the story is interesting but I just can’t stand those chapters. They’re like a break from the exciting chapters of Celaena, Rowan, Chaol, Dorian, and Aedion. Everytime I get into those chapters, I just want to hurry up so that I can be back to my beloved characters’ part of the story.

That’s all. LOL 🙂  Well that was long. Still, I’m at awe for the epic fantasy world created by Miss Sarah J. Maas. The agony of waiting for the release of the next book in the series is killing me. I want it now.

I swear it’s been really hard for me to find another book to hold my interest since I started reading this series. I’m in a bad case of book hangover. My rating for this book is obviously:

5-rating

Book Review: Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas

Title:  Crown of Midnight (Throne of Glass #2)

Author: Sarah J. Maas

Publisher: Bloomsbury USA Childrens (September 2, 2014)

Format: Paperback

Pages: 448

Synopsis from Goodreads:

Celaena Sardothien is the king’s Champion—yet she is far from loyal to the crown, for the man she serves is bent on evil. But working against her master in secret is no easy task. As Celaena tries to untangle the mysteries buried within the glass castle, she can trust no one, not even her supposed allies Crown Prince Dorian, Captain of the Guard Chaol, and foreign princess Nehemia.

Then, an unspeakable tragedy shatters Celaena’s world. She must decide once and for all where her loyalties lie . . . and whom she will fight for.

I am a self-confessed ToG obsessed fan, a Doraena shipper.. Last time I checked I was just a normal book nerd but after I read Throne of Glass and Crown of Midnight, my fangirl heart has been reignited.

There’s just something about Ms. Maas’ writing style that made me entranced with the magical world and characters she created. Once I opened CoM, I was sucked right back in Erilea. I felt as if I was there with the characters. She was so good..that it was like I have a movie playing out in my mind. You know that feeling?

In CoM, we see what happens to Celaena after she won as the King’s new Champion/Assassin. She was basically given a list of people who pose a threat to the kingdom and she has to kill them all. Not only that, dark forces are starting to rise in the kingdom. When a horrible incident occurs, whatever’s left of Celaena’s life crumbles. Whatever she needs to do to revenge, she will do it to make those people pay.

I can’t say whether this book is better than ToG but all I know is, it’s also epic and fantastic. Everytime Celaena goes on a mission, I make my heart ready for all the blood and gore that’s about to take place. I know she’s a damn good fighter. Oh gosh, she’s really one of my favorite female protagonists of all time. She’s so strong, brave, and intelligent.

The only thing that irritated me the most about this book is the Team Chaol/Celaena sailing. I do not ship them and I never will. What does Celaena see in Chaol? Sorry but I don’t trust the guy. He’s too loyal to the king. I think they are better off as friends. As for Dorian, I hurt for him okay? Everytime Celaena pushes him away, I want to cry. Can’t she see that they’re right for each other? Lol. But seriously though, I’m Team Dorian all the way.

On the other aspect of the book, I think it’s really cool that we get to unravel Celaena’s past and origin little by little. I’m not surprised at all to find out about what she really is. I want to see more about what her other capabilities are. What I’m surprised about is Dorian’s gift. Who would have thought that the King’s son would possess what was banished and forbidden in the kingdom.

It’s really amazing to find out about all these stuff. As a reader, these are the things I need to be more invested in a book. This is a series that I would be so looking forward to everytime that there will be a new book to be released. This is a series that will make me care so much about the characters..and I’m afraid for Celaena and Dorian.. They’re obviously the only two characters I care about, you see. It’s also a series that will make me sad when it comes to an end.

Seriously, Throne of Glass is a book series that will make you feel “living in a magical world”. For me, I just want to hug and devour and sit reading ToG books for days..because that is how good this series is. As you finish every book, you wouldn’t want to go back to reality yet. You’ll be hangover. I’m pretty sure that you will be.

This is just the second book in the ToG series that I have read. I am so invested with the story. I am so looking forward to getting my hands on the next books in the series. Can someone bring Ms. Sarah J. Maas in my country? I want to hug her and thank her for making my life as a reader more exciting.

If you came to this point of my review and you’re still not convinced to read the ToG series, I don’t know what to do with you. Seriously, pick the books now and come fangirl with us. I’m hoping that we can form a support group for all the Doraena (Dorian/Celaena) shippers out there.

Obviously, I am going to give this rating for CoM 😉 because I’m such a fan
