Never, never is probably one of the most anticipated books of 2015. It’s got so much buzz and I want to jump into the bandwagon. Lol. I have pretty much mixed feelings with regards to reading this novel. I love Colleen Hoover..so so much..However, I was a bit hesitant because this novel was co-written by Tarryn Fisher (not that I don’t like her writing style). I’m afraid because I remember all too well what I felt after reading her novel, Mud Vein. As I can recall, it evoked depressing feels. Okay? So, I was a bit worried that Never, Never might be a depressing book. And I know , I shouldn’t have judged the book like that.

Anyway, I got into reading this novel with caution. I prepared myself for character deaths and depressing themes. When I started reading it, I realized how the book was totally different from what I expected. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that they were “literally” strangers to each other. I got sucked after reading only a few chapters. All the time I was reading it, I kept thinking..”How can their situation be possibly true?”. I mean there’s got to be a logical explanation to this thing happening to both of them.

I love the characters! Silas is this rich, kind, and thoughtful guy who’s very much in love with Charlie. Then, Charlie seems like a bitch but she’s got a soft spot for Silas. I appreciate how honest they were to each other and how cute most of their banters were. I was also really intrigued about their relationship and the background story about their families.

As I get to the middle of the book, I kept looking desperately for my answers..for any clue that might give me an idea what the whole deal between these characters really is. To my dismay, the book was ended with such a frustrating cliffie. I just want to eat ice cream and chocolates just to comfort myself about the fact that I have to wait till the next book in the series comes out.

I’m giving this book a 4 out of 5 stars. The novel was short and I kind of wished that Colleen and Tarryn could have written more chapters and gave us more hints before they released it. Overall, I’m very thrilled to have read Never, Never. I have loads of theories right now. It might be a psychological thriller novel or a supernatural/paranormal one? I dunno. I just really really want to find out.

  1. Good review. I just finished the book today, and you took the words right out of my mouth. I wish it was longer, but I was pleasantly surprised by the book. My theory is voodoo, since they are in New Orleans. I guess we shall see 🙂
